Events / Endless Summer Festival

Summer in Whangārei brings vibrancy and joy to our District. Our native Christmas tree, the pohutukawa, bursts into colour and tui can be seen celebrating in the flowering harakeke. This is when Whangārei really comes to life, with golden beaches and lush bush walks; providing memorable moments with friends and whānau.

Summer in Whangārei also means it’s time for our annual Endless Summer Festival, a series of more than 100 events for residents and visitors. These events span from Waipu to Whangārei Heads, and I encourage you to take this opportunity to discover, explore and enjoy more of our District.

Endless Summer Festival events are being held from January right through to Easter in early April, and many are free of charge, or entry by donation. From art exhibitions and performances to sports events and festivals, there is something for everyone.
